Affordaboard Pedal Series

We have created a series of amazing pedals. We wanted to create some simple three knob pedals that look great, sound amazing and at an affordable price. All of the Affordaboard Series pedals are designed and built in the UK.

Supersonic Drive

Do you need to be yourself? Are you looking for more than cigarettes & alcohol? Do you yern to be a rock'n'roll star? Well look no further; The Supersonic Drive is an original circuit designed to capture the distinctive sound of Manchesters finest export of the 90's. The sound is more than just big distortion; it's a unique mix of clean note definition and over the top drive that allows open chords to ring out without being mushy. Strum a big open chord and let the guitar sing out with a smooth and natural note decay, but be warned; there is so much gain on tap that, if you're not careful, it will feedback like you're in front of a dimed 100watt stack! (You could say that it goes to 11!) Conceived, designed, and assembled in the UK, the "Supersonic" will help you live out your britpop fantasies.

Filthy Rat

Based on everyone's favourite rodent themed distortion, the "Filthy RAT" updates a classic design with some modern tweaks. With the original known for its wide gain range from mild drive to thick distortion to rawkus fuzz, the goal of the "Filthy RAT" was to capture the sound of this classic, but without using the long out of production LM308N op amp. "Why not use an OP07 like the current production version does?" Partly because it doesn’t sound quite the same, which is debatable, but mostly because even those are now being faked - as are the LM308N and the 2N5458 JFET - and so to make sure the pedal would sound consistently good and not have to worry about inadvertently sourcing dodgy parts, the circuit has been reworked with a dual op amp, and then heavily tweaked using several rodent style drives for reference (the main reference unit was a early 90's 'flat box', previously owned and used by Brian Molko and Placebo). On top of this it also updates the 'Tone' control to be the more conventional "clockwise = brighter", and houses it all neatly in to a pedalboard friendly Gorva C65 with top mounted jacks.
